Dambusters guided walk with Peak District National Park Rangers
A gentle stroll in the Upper Derwent Valley passing the iconic Derwent Dam and with views of the equally stunning Howden Dam.

The ruins of Birchinlee village will be our focus. This village is where the dam builders lived for 15 years, at the side of what is now Derwent reservoir. The history of the village and the people who lived there will be shared by your very knowledgeable walk leader, using old photographs to bring the village back to life.
The walk is designed to be Wheelchair and Mobility Scooter friendly but anyone is welcome to sign up - although please expect a slow pace of walk.
Note: There are two Mobility Scooters and one Wheelchair available to hire free of charge at Fairholmes Visitor Centre. For more info about the Scooters and to make a booking, see the attached link:

Cost: £10 for adults. Children under 18 are free with an accompanying adult.
Please arrive early as the car park will be very busy. Parking charges apply. For public transport, please check Hulleys of Baslow bus 257c on-line. There are toilets, a refreshment kiosk and Visitor Centre on site.
