With its great transport links, proximity to the University of Derby, and serene character, this idyllic setting promises to create an unforgettable experience for 15,000 music lovers and artists alike next summer at the debut of Derby Summer Sessions.
Fri 12 Jul - Becky Hill
Derby Summer Sessions kicks off with the multi-BRIT Award-winning Becky Hill, a pop powerhouse with a reputation as a pioneer in electronic music.
Becky is known for her distinctive voice and hit collaborations in the dance-pop genre, with everyone from David Guetta to Little Simz over the last decade. She has written and/or performed on seventeen UK Top 40 singles, including five Top 10 singles and a UK Number 1, amassing over 4 billion streams on Spotify alone.
Sat 13 Jul - Tom Jones (with special guest Gabrielle)
Welsh legend Tom Jones will captivate Derby on Saturdayl with his powerful voice, which has been enthralling audiences worldwide for over six decades.
Penning timeless classics including It’s Not Unusual, She’s a Lady and Sexbomb, selling more than 100 million records and continuing as an esteemed and influential figure in the music industry. Sir Tom’s career has been filled with numerous honours and accolades, including a deeply cherished knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II in 2006, multiple BRIT Awards, a Silver Clef Award, the Music Industry Trusts Award and a Hitmaker Award. He has cemented his place in music history as one of the most successful artists of all time, traversing musical eras and genres, and appealing to all genders and ages.
Also set to grace the stage on Saturday is Gabrielle, who emerged in the early '90s with her soulful voice and decade-defining hits including Out Of Reach’ With 30 years of her multi-platinum selling single Dreams, Gabrielle has surpassed over 50,000 ticket sales for her tour.
Sun 14 Jul - Madness (with special guests Rick Astley, The Lightning Seeds & Deco)
The world-class weekend of live music will see fans enjoy Madness on Sunday. The iconic British band has been delighting fans since the late '70s with their infectious blend of ska, pop, and new wave.
Their hits like Our House and Baggy Trousers are synonymous with their quirky and upbeat style and have cemented their status as one of the UK’s most beloved bands, with a legacy that continues to delight fans of all ages.
Joining them is Rick Astley, a global pop sensation in the late '80s, whose era-defining classic Never Gonna Give You Up has topped charts the world over.
The Lightning Seeds, are also set to perform, known for their melodic and cheerful indie pop, gifting the world the iconic football anthem Three Lions.
Deco will also join the party, delivering 80s synth-speckled contemporary pop hits.
