Summer Marketing Campaign 2026
An overview of our 2026 summer marketing activity targeting encouraging visitors and residents to make the most of summer across Derbyshire.
The campaign's objectives is to drive overnight stays and promote the destination as a great value family day out, reinforcing Derbyshire's reputation as one of the UK's most rewarding and affordable destinations for short breaks and days out.
The campaign for 8 weeks from 1st July 2026, with activity across our digital platforms and local radio.
The Concept
Following the success of last year's campaign we're excited to launch the second year of our Summer’s a BIG Deal campaign, running from 01 July to 31 August 2026, designed to showcase the very best seasonal experiences, offers and short breaks across Derbyshire, the Peak District and Derby City.
Target Audience
- Couples, families, and friend groups (ages 25–55)
- UK-based travellers seeking budget-friendly, culture and nature-focused breaks
- Last-minute bookers and staycationers looking for weekend getaways
The Campaign
The campaign will deliver a high-impact mixed-media approach, with a strong focus on:
- Paid social advertising
- Reels and digital video content
- SEO-focused blog content
- Email marketing campaigns
- 3rd party user generated content (UGC)
Paid activity starts 01Jul and runs for 8 weeks until the end of August.
Get Involved
Tourism businesses from across the destination are invited to get involved and take advantage of the campaign’s reach and visibility.
This year’s campaign aims to build on the success of previous summer activity by driving inspiration, engagement and bookings during the peak visitor season. A playbook and toolkit and been created for businesses to get involved in the campaign, which includes campaign logo’s, imagery and social templates and stickers. Find out more
