New dog-friendly hotel joins Visit Peak District & Derbyshire as Patron
Post Date: 25 Oct 2023
A new dog-friendly hotel that welcomes walkers, cyclists and adventurers to the Peak District is the latest business to become an official patron of Visit Peak District & Derbyshire.
The Bike & Boot hotel near Hope has joined a dedicated network of tourism-related businesses who share Visit Peak District & Derbyshire’s core aims to grow the visitor economy and promote the area as a world-class tourism destination.
Described as a ‘leisure hotel brand fit for the 21st century’, Bike & Boot is ideally placed for walking and cycling breaks with facilities catering for outdoor-loving visitors.
The hotel boasts 60 spacious rooms, including fully accessible rooms, a Continental buffet breakfast, free hot drinks and tea-time cake for guests, a film club showing films three times a day, dog grooming facilities, and secure cycle storage.
The on-site Bareca bar-restaurant-café is open to both hotel guests and non-residents for lunch and dinner and serves a Mediterranean-inspired menu that includes wood-fired pizzas, small plates, cocktails and craft beer.
The hotel has partnered with local experience provider, True North, to provide bike hire and maintenance on-site and there is also an area for walkers to clean off mud and dry their kit.
As a patron, Bike & Boot will support Visit Peak District & Derbyshire’s ongoing mission to increase visitor spend, extend the tourism season and boost overnight stays, whilst helping to grow the tourism sector in an inclusive, accessible and sustainable way.
The hotel has already created 40 jobs and follows the successful opening of Bike & Boot’s first hotel in Scarborough, which launched in July 2020.
Visit Peak District & Derbyshire, together with Visit Derby, forms the Visit Peak District, Derbyshire & Derby Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP). Developed and administered by national tourism body VisitEngland, the national portfolio of accredited LVEPs work locally and nationally on shared priorities and targets to grow the local visitor economy.
Simon Kershaw, Brand & Development Director at Bike & Boot, says:
“We are delighted to bring Bike & Boot to the Peak District following the excellent success of our first hotel in Scarborough.
“Bike & Boot is a brand fit for the 21st century and aims to cater for people who like to escape to the countryside, whether they want to cycle, walk or just get away for a few nights to recharge their batteries. Our USP is that we offer great value facilities for leisure breaks, with a dog grooming room, secure bike storage, boot wash and drying facilities, and free hot drinks to guests with cake at tea time.
“We are very excited to be pledging our support to Visit Peak District & Derbyshire as patrons and believe it is so important to champion the value of the visitor economy and celebrate all that our wonderful country has to offer to visitors from home and abroad.”
Jo Dilley, Managing Director of Visit Peak District & Derbyshire, says:

Our world-class outdoor offer, fantastic walking and cycling routes, and unique places to stay are what set the Peak District and Derbyshire apart as a destination, and Bike & Boot is an exciting, innovative brand that offers visitors something unique.
