Post Date: 02 Feb 2024
Tickets are now on sale for the Peak District, Derbyshire & Derby Tourism Awards which will take place at the Museum of Making in Derby on the evening of Thursday 7th March 2024.
Shining stars of the local tourism industry will be celebrated at the prestigious awards ceremony which will include a drinks reception sponsored by White Peak Distillery and three-course formal dinner in the historic surroundings of what is widely regarded as the site of the world’s first modern factory, at the heart of the UNESCO Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site.
Organised by Visit Peak District & Derbyshire in collaboration with Visit Derby as the region’s official Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP), the 2024 awards will celebrate the success and resilience of tourism businesses whilst highlighting the sector’s vital contribution to the local economy.
Finalists have been announced in 14 awards categories celebrating the best of tourism in the area, ranging from hotels, B&Bs and campsites to pubs, visitor attractions and unique experiences.
A new category sponsor – specialist property advisor Christie & Co – has also been announced for the 2024 awards. Christie & Co provides agency, valuation and consultancy services across a range of sectors including hotels, pubs and restaurants. They will be sponsoring the hotly-contest Hotel of the Year category and join existing awards sponsors, digital solutions company Destination Core.
At the awards evening, Gold winners will be presented with a luxury award, designed, made and sponsored by Derbyshire-based C W Sellors Fine Jewellery & Luxury Watches, whilst Silver and Bronze winners will each receive a certificate identifying them as one of the best tourism businesses in the area.
In a further boost, Gold winners in each of the 12 core categories will automatically progress onto the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2024, which represent the highest accolades in English tourism.
Tickets are priced at £75 plus VAT and include a drinks reception sponsored by White Peak Distillery and a formal three-course dinner. Tickets can be purchased at: https://2024-Tourism-Awards.eventbrite.co.uk
