About

14th November 2024 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

Did you know that it takes 20 pairs of hands to make every piece of Denby? Join us and fellow members as we go behind the scenes and into the heart of the working Pottery to meet some of the skilled craftspeople at work. Watch as they use time-honoured skills, finessed over 200 years, to transform our local Derbyshire clay into the famous Denby Pottery that you know and love.

Find out why Denby Pottery is so versatile, beautiful and durable and learn some quirky pottery-making terms, such as sponging, jollying and fettling on your journey around our fascinating pottery, in this unforgettable experience.

Coffee and cake will be served at the end of the tour

The Denby Pottery Tour Starts: 10.30am and lasts approximately 60-90 minutes.

Please ensure that you arrive at least 10 minutes in advance of your tour start time. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the tour, we're unable to accommodate any late arrival.

Note: Hi-Vis vests will be provided by your guide for you to wear during your tour. Customer toilets and seating areas are unavailable throughout the duration of the Pottery Tour. Please wear suitable closed footwear. It can get hot/cold during your tour depending on the season.
