About
Hopton Hall Gallery is where heritage and contemporary creativity meet in the heart of Derbyshire. Located in Ashbourne, it is part of the Hopton Hall Estate known for its gardens, historic restoration, growing art collection, and Month of Art competition.
The Gallery’s inaugural exhibition ‘Brushed Light: Atmospheric Watercolours’, runs from Tuesday, 14th April 2026 to Wednesday, 27th May 2026, featuring artwork from local artists Roger Allen, Martin Sloman, Sue Quinby, Cheryl Wilbraham, Mark Langley, Sarah Sutton, Tim Rose, Carol Hill, Sarah EA Parkin and and Ian Palmer Sculptures.
The Gallery offers an ever-changing programme of exhibitions which will showcase award-winning artists. It also provides a creative hub for established painters, sculptors and emerging makers in Derbyshire and beyond, hosting regular workshops, artist talks, and events (on everything from painting, drawing and printmaking classes to Christmas decoration making, and talks on art history).
Original contemporary artworks are available for purchase, in person at the Gallery. Contemporary and antique artworks are also available in the online shop.

Opening times
Hopton Hall Gallery is open for exhibitions from Tuesday to Saturday, 10am – 4pm from 14 April 2026 onwards.
