Set in the picturesque village of Barlaston, World of Wedgwood is an award-winning tourist destination, located in the heart of the Staffordshire countryside. World of Wedgwood is home to the world-renowned brand Wedgwood and the galleries of the V&A Wedgwood Collection, with experiences for all of the family, from cultural seekers and creatives to foodies.
If you are looking for things to do in Staffordshire, World of Wedgwood is a must. Our multi-experience site houses our hands-on Creative Studios, Wedgwood Factory, Wedgwood Tea Room, retail outlets, delicious eateries and bars.
Visitors looking for a cultural experience in Staffordshire will enjoy our iconic V&A Wedgwood Collection; home to over 165,000 works of art, ceramics, manuscripts and photographs charting the company’s history, designs and ceramic production. Around 3,500 objects are on display in the purpose-built museum, showcasing the commercial and aesthetic history of Wedgwood ceramics from iconic jasperware and black basalt vases to bone China tea services and classic 20th-century tableware. Entry to the museum is free, however bookable tours are available through our website.
For a behind-the-scenes look at the production of Wedgwood, join a guided tour of the Wedgwood Factory. Let our knowledgeable guides take you on a journey of Wedgwood by discovering the manufacturing process and getting to know our skilled workers.
If you’re more of a hands-on kind of learner, try your hand at throwing your very own pot in our Clay Studio where our host will help you use a potter’s wheel! Our Decorating Studio is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays plus school holidays, and is the perfect family-friendly activity, guests of all ages can have a go at painting a pot to take home as a souvenir of your trip.
For those looking to treat themselves to a spot of shopping in Staffordshire, our Wedgwood Store features an exquisite range of Wedgwood and Waterford Crystal. Located in the courtyard, you will find the Fiskars Store, with Royal Doulton, Royal Albert, Waterford and Wedgwood Outlet, to name a few of the big-name brands displayed there. Also in the courtyard, Josiah and Co, our artisan store showcases the products of over 35 local makers from across Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire- you may even find a dog-friendly treat for your pooch!
The Wedgwood Tea Room offers an eclectic menu for brunch and lunch and our iconic quintessentially English afternoon tea. Across the way, you’ll find Lunar by Niall Keating, a previous holder of two Michelin stars, where you can enjoy a new modern fine dining concept in a breathtaking setting.
World of Wedgwood is beautiful in all weather, our whimsical woodland and nature trail is fit for all ages to enjoy the best of Staffordshire's great outdoors. Minutes from the canal, Wedgwood Lake and Barlaston Downs, there is so much to do both inside and out!
