Atlow Mill is the perfect place to gather with friends and family to relax, unwind and explore the beautiful Peak District. Both The Mill (sleeping 10) or The Cow Shed (sleeping 8) are beautifully appointed holiday homes, designed with original features and laid-back luxury in mind. They are surrounded by rolling hills, a pretty brook and secluded woodland, and a good old fashioned country pub is just half an hours walk away.

On the edge of the Peak District National Park, and tucked away in its own private valley, Atlow Mill is a hidden gem in the Derbyshire countryside. Home to two luxury holiday cottages, it is the perfect place to disconnect from the outside world, and reconnect with nature.

The Mill is a 17th century water mill full of old-world character. Sympathetically renovated throughout, it offers: 5 comfy bedrooms sleeping 10 people, a further snug with king-sized sofa bed, 3 bathrooms, open-plan living-dining space with high vaulted ceilings, a log burner and smart TV with complementary Netflix, large well-equipped country kitchen, plus a private garden with a hammock, gas BBQ and wood fired pizza oven.

The Cow Shed @ Atlow Mill has been recently converted from an old cow shed (opened April 2023). Behind the agricultural façade is a luxury interior with high ceilings, lots of light and a modern rustic feel. It offers 4 spacious, ensuite bedrooms sleeping 8 people, all available either with a super-king bed or two single beds, a large open plan kitchen-living-dining space with well-equipped kitchen, log burner and smart TV with complementary Netflix, indoor games room with table football and table tennis and a private garden with a gas BBQ and wood fired pizza oven.

In addition, all guests are welcome to use the large, grassed play area, the woodland and stream and make use of the public footpath that passes the property. There is also an open sided hay barn with hay bales and a rope swing for children to enjoy during their stay. (Hay barn available during weekends and school holidays only, up to 7pm).

Atlow Mill is perfectly located to enjoy everything the Peak District has to offer. Spectacular scenery and beautiful walks or cycling routes are literally right on your doorstep, plus there is lots more to explore in the surrounding area including: Chatsworth House, Alton Towers, The Heights of Abraham, Gulliver’s Kingdom, Peak Wildlife Park and the market towns of Ashbourne (5 miles), Wirksworth (6 miles), Matlock (12 miles), Bakewell (15 miles), and Buxton (22 miles).

If you don’t fancy cooking there are also lots of great places to eat in the local area, from your traditional country pub to cosy tea rooms, cafes, and fine dining restaurants.
