About
Nestled within the Peak District National Park, The Maynard combines everything our guests have come to appreciate in contemporary sophistication and the simpler, traditional charms of our beautiful Derbyshire countryside. A peaceful and relaxing destination everybody can call home. Whether staying in our luxury accommodation, celebrating a wedding, birthday or any special occasion with family and friends, or simply dropping by to visit our bar and renowned restaurant, our home is always open.
The ethos behind our menus is simple: it must be local, fresh, accessible and food that our guests would want to enjoy with us. Our Head Chef, has worked hard in designing menus to suit all diets and dietary requirements. We have numerous options for guests, which include healthier eating options and plant based diets. We have adapted many of our dishes to be naturally gluten free without impacting the flavours and textures to those who aren’t. As all of our food is created fresh in house, we can be completely adaptable to any requests that you may have.
Our bar is open from 8 am every day, where we invite you to a hearty breakfast, lunch, after work drinks, evening meals or that much needed night-cap. Enjoy leisurely mornings with a warming cup of coffee by our log burner, or a summer’s evening in our beautiful garden, taking in the picturesque views of the Hope Valley. All of our premium drinks have been selected with care, including 20 local gins from local producers White Peak Distillery and Hedgerow. We have 4 cask ales from Thornbridge, Abbeydale and Peak Ales Breweries and wines from award-winning merchant, John Hattersley. Our coffee is ethically and sustainably sourced by Roastology in Sheffield and all our organic teas are from Joe’s Tea.
Our guest rooms offer all the comforts of contemporary living, while retaining the charm and character of a rustic retreat — an idyllic home away from home in the heart of the country. Whether you’re looking for a local place to stop, or somewhere to relax, at the end of long walk in the peaks, The Maynard provide a luxurious and comfortable stay. We offer premium bedrooms of different standards. All of the en-suite bedrooms come with elite linen, luxury toiletries from Duck Island, coffee from Roastology, Joe’s Tea and local organic water. Cooked breakfast is inclusive within all room tariffs.
