A 6 mile guided walk

Climb the 'Cheshire Matterhorn' ! A stroll through Macclesfield Forest crossing local moorland, followed by a climb to the summit of Shutlingsloe. Spectacular views.  An added bonus is that Shutlingsloe is an 'Ethel'.  If this is your first Ethel, there are 94 more high points in the Peak District to visit, speak to your Rangers.

  • Beautiful views created by contrasting landscapes and dramatic geology - A Special Quality of our National Park
  • Event Grade: Hard - longer more challenging walks with ascents and descents and rough terrain.
  • Extra Items: Please be prepared for high winds !  Wear good boots.
  • Event Terrain: A steep climb to the top. Short sections rough, but mostly good paths.
  • Start: 9:30am   Finish: 3:00pm
  • Meeting Point: Trentabank Ranger Centre. Toilets available at meeting point.
  • Parking: Pay and Display. Pay and display takes coins or use RingGo app on your phone.
