Celebrate Buxton’s Roman heritage with immersive displays, military and everyday life, hands-on workshops, and ancient crafts. Discover thermal waters, Roman life, and history in an engaging, family-friendly festival experience.
After the huge success of last year’s inaugural event, we’re thrilled to announce that Buxton’s Roman Festival is back on Saturday 4th April 2026!
Step back in time and immerse yourself in Buxton’s Roman heritage with a day full of history, discovery, and hands-on fun. Talks and demonstrations will be happening throughout the day from 10 am to 4 pm, so there’s plenty to see and do for all ages.
Explore how the Romans shaped our town and its famous thermal waters through:
– Living history and demonstrations
– Displays
– Roman food, crafts & trade exhibits
– Engaging talks on Roman life
Entry is free, but donations to support the festival would be gratefully received.
