About

10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Design and create your own coiled basket or coaster using both ‘plain’ and ‘figure of eight’ stitches, using your own choice of colour and material combinations. A coiled basket is created by binding around a core material in a spiral shape, it is worked into the required shape as it develops. Traditionally this ancient craft of coiled basketry used locally sourced plant materials including grasses, leaves, rushes. Utilising the same techniques, we will use a more recent version of this basketry craft and make baskets using yarn and fabric.
All materials and equipment are provided and this workshop suitable for beginners
