Organised with enthusiasts, families, and history lovers in mind, the Buxton 1940s Weekend will feature:

    • Authentic Living History Displays – Meet wartime characters, explore recreated encampments, and learn about life on the home front and front lines.
    • Reenactors in Period Uniforms – Military and civilian reenactors will bring the sights, sounds, and stories of the era to life.

The Ashby Big Band will transport you back to the golden age of swing and jazz, performing the timeless wartime classics that once filled Britain’s dance halls. Dust off your vintage finery, lace up your dancing shoes, and get ready to relive the spirit of the era! The evening promises a warm and welcoming atmosphere, complete with period décor and a true community feel. Whether you’re an experienced dancer or stepping onto the floor for the first time, dance lessons will be available to help you join in the fun.
