A global phenomenon that has wowed audiences for decades.

About

16th April 2025 - 27th April 2025 7:30 pm - 3:00 pm

Jesus Christ Superstar is a timeless work set against the backdrop of an extraordinary and universally known series of events but seen through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. As one of Buxton Opera House’s Community productions, Jesus Christ Superstar is bought to you by a talented cast of local performers, supported by a professional creative team. Directed by Paul Kerryson and produced by Sarah Kell, the story, told entirely through song, explores the personal relationships and struggles between Jesus, Judas, Mary Magdalene, his disciples, his followers and the Roman Empire. The iconic 1970s rock score features well-known numbers such as Superstar, I Don’t Know How to Love Him and Gethsemane.
