Middleton-by-Youlgrave Market and Well Dressings

The 2024 Middleton-by-Youlgrave annual market and well dressings are opening at midday on Saturday 25th May. The event is located at DE45 1LS. Free parking is available off-road near the village hall. As you walk to the market in the village square, you'll pass the village hall where you can get tea, sandwiches and cakes. Just before you reach the square you'll see the main well dressing displayed at the 1876 tap well; children's well- dressing boards are displayed nearby. Around the square there's a selection of stalls for you to visit: lots of plants at the plant stall; choices of books, CDs and LPs at the book stall; home-made cakes and bakes at the cakes stall; some real bargains at the vintage/pre-loved stall; and surprises at the bric-a-brac stall.

If you're in the mood for fun, watch the Morris dancers performing in the square, try your hand at skittles in the playground, or see if you're in luck at the tombola and the raffle! Children, what might you find on the hedgehogs trail? If you enjoy open gardens, take a walk and visit this year's Middleton selection. Find out about the history of our community through the information boards located on the open gardens route. A leaflet is available for village explorers! Maybe you'd like some peace and quiet - call in to to St Michael and All Angels Church and relax by enjoying the flowers display and music. If you fancy a burger, come to the barbecue; if you want a delicious tea, get down to the village hall!

( SUNDAY 26th MAY - Please note teas are available in the village hall 10am-4pm for well dressing visitors. The Blessing of the Well take place at 6.30pm in the square)
