Snail Blazers - A short, wheelchair accessible route from Buxton Pavillion Gardens

Come and join the welcoming Snail Blazers and their friends at Derbyshire Time Swap and Buxton Town Team for a short, wheelchair accessible route at a relaxed pace. Snail Blazers are the group where everybody is welcome, as long as you’re not in a hurry!

Meeting just outside the main entrance to the Octagon in Buxton’s Pavilion Gardens, where there are also toilet facilities and benches, our walk leaders will follow an easy 20-30 minute route around Pavilion Gardens, taking in some of the natural and historic features often out of sight or missed. Theres’s plenty of time to chat, ask questions, sit on a bench and just breathe and relax. With the option of a slightly longer walk option to focus on the park’s trees with the help of the Buxton Town Team’s PG tree app, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. We’ll finish back at the Octagon for anyone wanting to stay on for a cuppa and a chat.

Route length – less than a mile with bench stops.

Easy, mostly flat

Accessible for anyone in a wheelchair or using walking aids which several of our regular group and one of our walk leaders use. If you need support attend with a caregiver, we ask you to share any relevant health conditions with a walk leader so that we can ensure participant safety. A short walk registration form will be completed before the walk.

The walk is free to join. Any donations are welcome  but not expected, which are used to keep the group going. Payment for own refreshments if required
