Summer barbecue in Repton
Summer barbecue, historic walking tours, band, bar, children's games in Repton
About
22nd August 2026
12:30 pm - 5:00 pm
A Quintessential Village Affair ✨Join the Friends of Repton Parish Church for a classic summer barbecue in aid of the FRPC! It doesn't get more Engish than this.
What your ticket gets you:
🍖 A succulent hog roast bap (or vegetarian alternative)
🍓 Strawberries and cream (naturally!)
⛪ Fascinating guided tours of the church and grounds
🤾 Children's games
The extra bits:
A bar will be open all afternoon and tea and cakes will be on sale from 3pm ☕🍰. We accept both cash and credit cards.
An important warning:
Please bring your own deck chairs! 🛋️ The church chairs have a classic design that unfortunately doubles as a lawn-aerator, meaning they sink right into the ground. (We will try to find some suitable garden chairs, but not enough for everyone.)
We will mostly be outside enjoying the summer air (unless the heavens open). See you there for a wonderful community day! ☀️🎉
The Friends of Repton Parish Church are a registered charity (no. 1162837) set up to help conserve, repair and improve the beautiful and ancient church of St Wystan together with its churchyard for the benefit of all. The trustees are a mix of people committed to supporting the maintenance of the church building though not necessarily part of the worshipping community, together with the vicar and two members nominated by the Parochial Church Council (PCC). By raising funds for specific projects agreed by the PCC we aim to enhance and maintain the building in good condition for future generations to enjoy. Do come along to find out more about our work.
