Barn Cottage – Bakewell is a delightful detached barn conversion that is full of charm and character, a perfect holiday destination for a discerning couple.
The cottage is situated in a quiet residential conservation area of Bakewell but only a five minute level stroll to the centre of the market town which is in the centre of the Peak District National Park
The cottage has a ‘stable’ style entrance door, vaulted ceilings with oak beams, stone and oak flooring, tastefully furnished and decorated to retain the friendly, warm and cosy feeling
There is off road, private parking in front of the cottage on the owners courtyard with an EASEE Robot 7.5 kWh EV charging facility for the use of cottage guests only
There is undercover storage for bicycles and a ‘wash off’ facility for muddy bikes. Bicycles can also be hired, including electric bikes, from Hassop Station Bike Hire which is approx. two miles from the cottage
Barn Cottage - Bakewell has a tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished lounge area with York stone flooring, lighting to suit your mood, two seater settee and easy chair, gas log effect free standing stove and a, large flat screen ' LG Smart' television. There is plenty of reading material available in the cottage of local and general interest including maps and guides
A very good 36 mbps WiFi connection is available, free of charge, in all areas of the cottage
The dining and galley kitchen area has all the essential equipment you will need for your stay including electric oven, hob and grill with easy clean flat top hob with quick heat elements complete with illuminated fume extraction hood.. There is also a microwave oven, electric toaster and kettle, refrigerator with freezer compartment, under cupboard lighting and all the pots, pans and equipment etc you would expect for your self catering holiday including all bedding, towels, t/towels, t/rolls etc…
The modern bathroom has a large wash hand basin, mirror with vanity light, electric shaver point and glass shelf. There is a double, mirror fronted, bathroom cabinet, toilet with soft close seat and large walk in shower area with powerful shower head
The bedroom has Oak flooring, large comfortable double bed with memory foam mattress, two bedside cupboards each with a reading lamp. Large Pine double wardrobe and chest of drawers. The bedroom is equipped with a hair dryer, ironing board and iron

As a holiday destination Bakewell is incomparable, with extremely good access to all the wonderful scenery and sight seeing the Peak District National Park has to offer
Bakewell has a weekly street market every Monday including a livestock market at the Agricultural Centre.
Throughout the seasons there are many regular country town and village entertainments such as, Chatsworth Horse Trials in May, RHS Chatsworth Flower Show in June, Bakewell Carnival in July, Bakewell Show in August and Chatsworth Country Fair in September
There are Carnivals and Well Dressings in surrounding villages throughout the Spring Summer and Autumn….not to be forgotten the wonderful Christmas decorations of Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Bakewell during the festive season of November and December
The great houses of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are a matter of a few minutes drive, or interesting walk or cycle ride, from the door of Barn Cottage - Bakewell.
The beautiful landscape and scenery of Monsal Dale and Lathkill Dale, Stanage, Froggatt and Curbar Edge are very close giving stunning vistas.
A little further afield is the Hope Valley. Eyam, Hathersage, Castleton, Hope, Edale and the Ladybower and Derwent Reservoirs
Sickleholme Golf Club, Bamford 8 miles, Chatsworth Golf Club 2 miles and Bakewell Golf Club ½ mile from Barn Cottage –Bakewell where day passes are available
Fly fishing on the River Wye, day tickets are available from The Peacock at Rowsley or The Cressbrook and Litton Fly Fishers Club
There is a local Tourist Information Office in Bakewell, again just a short level walk from the cottage, where everything you will need to know about the Peak District can be obtained, although, there is plenty of information, brochures and maps in Barn Cottage - Bakewell for your convenience
