Our Victorian Market Hall was originally built in 1857 'for the shelter and safeguard of market people'. It housed a Corn Exchange, a covered market, shops and offices, and a house for the market keeper.

Chesterfield’s Victorian Market Hall is home to lots of fantastic independent businesses in the heart of the town centre. Originally built in 1857, it underwent a multi-million pound refurbishment in 2013 to create a bright and airy space with historic details.
Featuring a wide range of retailers the Market Hall offers a fantastic selection of products including local produce and meats, country and work wear, gifts and homewares, knitting supplies, repair services and self-care services. In the centre of the Market Hall, you will find The Market Café an independently run coffee shop offering delicious hot drinks, cakes and light bites.
You’ll also find accessible public toilets within the Market Hall and a Changing Places facility on the outside of the building. Chesterfield Market Hall is open Monday to Saturday from 8:30am to 5pm.
