With a rich heritage and a thriving modern offering, Chesterfield Markets continue to be a focal point for the town centre, providing the perfect place to meet, eat and shop.
Trading since at least 1165, Chesterfield is home to one of England’s oldest open-air markets and the recent refurbishment has helped ensure it provides a fantastic experience for visitors whilst retaining its historic charm. As well as hosting regular markets, Chesterfield Markets holds events throughout the year.
General Market
Every Monday, Friday and Saturday from 9am to 4pm, is Chesterfield’s general market.
As a traditional market, you’ll find a fantastic range of traders selling food, fashion, homewares, plants and handmade products. The general market offers something for everyone, and you’re bound to find a bargain or two amongst the stalls.
Flea Market
The popular flea market is held every Thursday from 9am to 4pm. It is a truly unique market that is packed with antiques, collectibles, and second-hand bargains.
You never know quite what you will find on the flea market but whether you’re looking for a period piece to enhance your home, the missing piece of your collection or just want to soak in a bustling market atmosphere, the flea market can offer it all.
Chesterfield Artisan Market
Chesterfield Artisan Market is held on the last Sunday of each month from 10am to 3.30pm.
It features a wide range of handmade and artisan products including foods, handcrafted jewellery, bespoke artwork, and one-of-a-kind homeware items. With a focus on all things local, ethical and original, you’ll find some fantastic treats and gifts amongst the stalls.
Chesterfield Record Fair
Chesterfield Record Fair is held on the second Sunday of each month from 9am to 2pm. It attracts traders from across the country and is becoming one of the largest record fairs in the region.
With every genre and era covered you’ll find a fantastic selection of records to add to your collection. You can also find a selection of tapes and unique music memorabilia.
