George's cottage was built by the current owner's Great Grandfather (George) in 1900 and has been lovingly renovated to the highest standard to provide a lovely base to explore Derbyshire and The Peak District. This 19th Century country cottage has great views of the Iconic Bamford Edge and Win Hill.
It is perfectly located for walkers, cyclists, climbers, swimmers, golfers, and fishermen. It is also a good base for exploring the many quintessentially English villages of the Hope Valley and beyond. The cottage is within easy reach of Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Hardwick Hall, Buxton Spa, and Bakewell, to name just a handful of the local attractions. There are two local pubs, each within walking distance.
You will be assured of a warm welcome to George's cottage with a cosy sitting room and a well-planned, fully equipped kitchen which is complete with a dining area and traditional AGA cooker (plus microwave and induction hob if you don’t fancy being Mary Berry). Our sitting room is complete with a large TV, Freesat box, cosy lighting and a solid fuel fire for those cosy evenings whether you want to watch Netflix or read a book!
The two upstairs spacious bedrooms have king-size beds that can be made into single beds for absolute flexibility to our visitors, whether you be a family or a group of friends exploring what Bamford has to offer. Each bedroom has stunning views out to Win Hill, along with its own thoughtful theme. Our luxurious bathroom has both a bath and a shower, so you can guarantee somewhere to soak and relax after a day in the hills.
We've partnered with some amazing local suppliers to make sure you have luxury from the moment you arrive at George's Cottage. From the toiletries and fluffy towels we supply to the cosy cotton bedding and welcome pack, you're sure not to be in short supply of anything you need.
The outside enclosed yet spacious garden with views of Bamford Edge and Win Hill has comfortable seating along with a barbecue, log store and secure cycle storage box. We have parking for one car at the front of the cottage and additional parking at the roadside for another.
