    Rocking Stone Cottages

Situated in the heart of the Peak District above the charming village of Birchover, Rocking Stone Cottages are the ideal base for exploring the glorious Peak District.

    About

The stylish cottages are a stone's throw from Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Bakewell, the only town within the National Park. Cosy country pubs, the Druid Inn and the Red Lion, are a five minute walk away and do home cooked food and the latter has its own microbrewery on site.

The area has a fascinating Druidic history, and many stunning rock formations are nearby including the Druid Rocks, the Nine Ladies Druid Stone Circle and Robin Hood’s Stride, hermits cave and stone circle, which are all within a 30 minute walk.

For cyclists, trails like the Monsal or Tissington are perfect for taking in the stunning views. Day trips to nearby towns such as Ashbourne, Bakewell (renowned for its famous puddings), Tissington, Eyam, Edale, Castleton and Hathersage are a breeze. Manchester Airport and East Midlands Airport are just over an hour away.

    A Walker's Paradise

There are a myriad of walks available from the cottage door that take in the wonderful scenery of the area. The Limestone Way is a famous long-distance footpath that traverses the White Peak - part of it emerging at Robin Hood's Stride.

    The Hollywood Connection

Movie buffs out there will know that the cult eighties film The Princess Bride used locations near to the cottage. The opening scene where Buttercup rides a white horse up to her dwelling was filmed behind the cottage and other scenes were filmed a short walk away and around the Peak District.
