    Buxton Well Dressing and Carnival is celebrated each year in July. In 2020 it was 180 years since the tradition first started in Buxton.

     Buxton will have 4 Well Dressings this year and you will find them at:-

    The Blessing is on July 5th, 2:00p.m.  Market Place Well.  SK17 6EQ
    Wells in the Making.  At St. John's Church, St. John's Road, Buxton SK17 6XG.  From Monday June 29th to Thursday 2nd July from 9am to 5pm.  Free admission
         
    1. Higher Buxton Well on the west side of the Market Place. In the latter part of the week, this is in the midst of the funfair  
    2. St Ann’s Well at the well on The Crescent  
    3. Spring Gardens Well Dressing a well dressing with 3 separate faces on Spring Gardens, at its junction with The Quadrant  
    4. Lion Head Fountain Well Dressing in the Pump Room opposite St Ann's Crescent. Only accessible when the Pump Room is open  

    On occasions when a Flower Festival is held in St John the Baptist Church on different dates from the main Well Dressing event, a Well Dressing board will often feature in the Church as part of the Festival.  
     Buxton is located on the A6 between Bakewell and Stockport.
