Celebrating Jane Austen: Regency Festival

Entry is included with all 'house and garden' and 'garden' tickets.

Regency dress is optional but encouraged. 

Join us as we celebrate Jane Austen and pastimes from the Regency period in the grounds of 'Pemberley' (aka Mr Darcy's House), as immortalised on screen in the 2005 film adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen.

Step into the world of Regency England as Chatsworth celebrates Jane Austen with a weekend of talks, live performances and entertainment inspired by the author’s much-loved novels. Across the garden and house, enjoy talks from expert speakers, theatrical scenes performed by the Chatsworth Players, live music, Regency dancing demonstrations plus a promenade through the gardens of ‘Pemberley’ itself.

Alongside the main festival programme, Chatsworth will be hosting a series of craft workshops and experiences, including Austen-inspired embroidery, traditional carriage rides through the park, plus a Regency-inspired afternoon tea. Don your gowns and breeches for the Pemberley Ball, where you can enjoy a glass of fizz in the Painted Hall and self-guided tour of the north wing, followed by an evening of Regency-inspired food and dancing in the Carriage House.
