About
Situated on the Chatsworth Estate, The Cavendish Hotel’s location is arguably its greatest asset, offering unrivalled access to all that the Peak District has to offer.
Designed by Nicola Harding, the rooms at the Cavendish take inspiration from Chatsworth’s interiors, history, art and people; its connection to the land and local community.
“We sourced incredible pieces from upholsterers, craftspeople and makers, such as locally woven organic cotton and linen fabrics and glazed ceramic bedside lamps made by a member of the Chatsworth team. We even drew on the art and family photos from the Devonshire family’s personal collection.” - Nicola Harding
The Cavendish Hotel is set on Chatsworth Estate, with doorstep access to its historic house, garden, parkland and renowned Farm Shop, as well as the beautiful landscapes, wildlife, heritage sites and villages of Derbyshire and the Peak District. From expertly planned walking routes and world class fishing to local crafts and arts, and locally sourced food, the hotel offers a unique rural escape.
Whether your escape includes scenic hikes, local art and craft, or restorative wellness, they can help you create your perfect stay.
Their connection with the community goes back 500 years, and they are proud to be able to share the best the Derbyshire countryside has to offer.
The food offering at The Cavendish has been curated by Executive Chef, Adam Harper and champions the best of local produce. Working closely with the gardeners and farmers at Chatsworth, as well as local artisan suppliers from the estate and surrounding areas- the majority of whom are based within a ten-mile radius of the hotel - Adam has developed menus that celebrate the Peak District’s best-known producers, including trout from Ladybower Fisheries, cold pressed rapeseed oil from Bakewell's Brock & Moreton and pork from the family-run Moss Valley Farm.
The 28 characterful and comfortable bedrooms, including two suites, feature countryside views across the estate. Antique furniture, stone fireplaces and traditional elements feature throughout, and punches of colour and texture add a sense of fun, from playful lamps made by a Chatsworth-based potter to upholstery and fabrics woven in Derbyshire and Yorkshire.
