British Mountaineering Council Peak Area volunteers with Walk the Moorlands - 26th September 2024

Starting at Buxton Railway Station, we’ll ascend Combs Moss (Buxton’s mini-Kinder Scout) for a lap around the moorland plateau. The route is approximately 15 km with a 300 m ascent, using established paths, tracks, and some open moorland. The walk will take around 5 hours, including stops, providing panoramic views across the town and uncovering hidden histories such as an ancient hillfort and a daring German WWII military attack that left its mark on northern England.

Combs Moss is restricted access land and the owner does not allow dogs. So, regretfully, no dogs are allowed on this walk.

Additional places now available due to popular demand.

The event is FREE - book your place here
