Guided by Nature: Veteran Tree Walk at Hardwick

Tour Hardwick’s veteran tree collection to understand how they provide protected habitats for nature

    About

    2nd December 2026 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Uncover the mystery behind the trees that have shaped Hardwick's historic landscape on our Veteran Tree Walk. The scarred trunks, lightning strikes, and missing limbs of these veteran trees all tell a story of survival and their vital role in the environment.

Join Hardwick's Head Ranger for a guided walk around the parkland and hear firsthand about the importance of veteran trees and how the National Trust's habitat restoration plans are keeping Hardwick's wildlife thriving.

This enjoyable and educational walk will take approximately 2.5 to 3 hours and is 3.5 to 4 miles in distance.

Hot drinks and snacks can be purchased at the beginning and end of the walk.
