A walk from Hope that takes one of the easier routes up onto the spectacular Win Hill, and also visits the ancient Hope Cross

Derbyshire Heritage Walks is offering a number of guided walks as part of the 2026 High Peak Walking Festival. Some are suitable for those new to walking, while others are for the more experienced walker. All are led by a guide with over 35 years experience of leading walks in and around the area. Many are suitable for dogs with well-behaved owners on leads, and some are accessible by public transport.

- Duration: 5.5 hours

- Public Transport: Hope Valley Line trains from Sheffield and Manchester, or various buses to Hope
Duration of the walks is from 4 to 6 hours, with distances between 6 and 10 miles. All involve some hills and require at least an average level of fitness, and unfortunately none are suitable for those of limited mobility due to the terrain and presence of stiles.
