Middleton-by-Youlgrave Well Dressing

This ancient custom is only found in Derbyshire, and is the art of decorating springs and wells with pictures made from natural materials
The location of the well dressing will be in Middleton-by-Youlgrave Square.

Come and visit one of the most picturesque villages in the White Peak! Spend an afternoon at the 2025 Middleton-by-Youlgrave Market and Well Dressings on Saturday 24^th May. It starts at midday, with free off-road parking DE45 1LS.

Lots to do: market stalls in the village square (including a wonderful selection of plants), open from midday; well dressings; a variety of open gardens; explore the village trail with a special map; discover Middleton’s history boards; take the children on the Children’s Wildlife Hunt; enjoy the Winster Morris Dancers; come into the peaceful village church with its flowers and music; try the raffle with its great prizes, barbecue in the Square, skittles in the playground and don’t miss the delicious village hall teas!
(on Sunday 25^th May well dressing visitors can enjoy teas in the village hall 10am-4pm, visit the church and join the Blessing of the Well at 6.30pm in the Square)
