The Burlington Room at Chatsworth Stables
Plants and nature have long been used by writers as metaphors, and to ground their worlds in a particular place and time.
Inspired by this year's House of Stories: Tales from the Chatsworth Library exhibition, Garden Collection and Learning Manager, Faye Tuffrey, explores the stories of some of the most interesting or unusual plants at Chatsworth, and shares their connections to both classic and modern literature, from William Shakespeare and Thomas Hardy, to Daphne de Maurier and J.R.R. Tolkien.
