Eyam Museum

Discover the story of Eyam, the famous plague village.

About

Explore the history of our unique village including Eyam’s famous story of struggle and survival during the plague of 1665 to 1666. Discover the village’s wider social history and industrial heritage, including the longest women’s strike in UK history.

You can dress as a 17th Century villager, borrow sensory backpacks for families to explore the museum with and try our museum quiz.

The museum is an ideal place to start your journey of exploration around Eyam and its important plague story sites. We offer short historical walking tours of the village (subject to volunteer guide availability) which are bookable onsite on the day.
