About
Lane Head Barns sits in the southwest area of the Peak District National Park. This is a quieter part of the Peak District where guests can enjoy stunning moorland views and peaceful days out exploring the beautiful local landscapes and visitor attractions.
Morridge View, our five bedroom, four star holiday cottage was the first barn to be converted. This stone built former cow barn (or ‘shippon’) overlooks traditional farmland to Morridge – a stunning ridge, rising to 1500 ft above sea level with views across the Peak District to the east and to the Welsh hills in the west.
Morridge View sleeps 10 plus 2 infants in five double / twin bedrooms. Three bedrooms have en-suite facilities with one being on the ground floor. The ground floor bedroom has a step-free wetroom with adapted fittings and is suitable for the less able including wheelchair users. Two first floor bedrooms can be set up with either a king-size bed or two singles to provide flexibility for mixed groups.
Ground floor living space is open plan and ideal for socialising around the large oak dining table or relaxing or watching the smart TV in the comfy sofas and armchairs next to the wood burner. A terrace with outdoor seating and BBQ leads directly off the living area and provides idyllic views across farmland.
Mixon View, our one bedroom, five star, romantic cottage, sleeps 2 plus an infant with the spacious bedroom and open plan living area both having views across Peak District landscapes. Original features such as exposed stone walling have been retained in the interior and the entire cottage has been fitted out to a high standard with solid oak feature staircase, smart TVs in living area and bedroom, and Morso wood burner. The living area leads directly onto a terrace with outdoor seating, BBQ and views toward the hamlet of Mixon.
Walk, cycle, explore then gather together to dine and relax around the wood burners.
