Middle Farm Holiday Cottages
We have 2 self catering holiday cottages - Maigold Cottage and Albertine Barn. They are situated in a rural hamlet of Brushfield, in the heart of the Derbyshire Peak District National Park
About
We have two self catering holiday cottages. Maigold Cottage (sleeps 4 - one double and one twin bedrooms), is all on one level and suitable for young and old who want easy access without any steps or trip hazards. Albertine Barn (sleeps 8 - two double and two twin bedrooms), is a 2 storey conversion with one downstairs twin bedroom.
They are situated in a rural hamlet of Brushfield, in the heart of the Derbyshire Peak District National Park, close to Chatsworth and offer one of the best scenic locations in the Derbyshire Peak District. Brushfield is on the edge of Monsal Dale and lies on a sunny south facing hillside high above Taddington Dale. It is an ideal base for tourists, walkers, cyclists and those wishing to enjoy a relaxing holiday in a stunning area. Set in the midst of the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District, the cottages have outstanding views across open landscapes. It is an idyllic setting providing peace and tranquility.
Approached along a quiet country lane and surrounded by fields and woodland our holiday cottages are hidden deep in the countryside, yet are central to all the attractions of the Derbyshire Peak District including the lovely towns of Buxton and Bakewell and the historic houses and gardens of Chatsworth (which hosts RHS Chatsworth each June) and Haddon Hall as well as the famous plague village of Eyam. Buxton Opera House is only 6 miles away and all the local villages have spectacular welldressing events over the summer months. The pretty villages of Ashford in the Water, Monyash, Youlgreave, Tideswell, Litton, Chelmorton, Sheldon, Little Longstone, Great Longstone and Taddington are all within walking distance and only a short drive away by car. You can walk or cycle onto the Monsal Trail, directly from our cottages and enjoy the spectacular route through the dales and the peaks using the disused track of the old railway line.
Albertine and Maigold have been renovated and fitted out to an exceptionally high standard and offer extremely comfortable spacious accommodation. Many interesting original features are retained with exposed beams and roof trusses, natural stone and reclaimed wood. Both properties have ample parking, bike storage, garden and courtyard areas with furniture and barbeque. Shared laundrette facilities are available in an outbuilding and there is a secure lock up facility for bicycles including charging facility.
Middle Farm Holiday cottages is an ideal short stay base for guests attending wedding celebrations at Thornbridge Hall, Chatsworth, Cressbrook Hall, Tissington Hall, Eyam Hall and other numerous hotel and spa venues in the Bakewell and Buxton areas.
The owners live in the nearby farmhouse and whilst respecting guests privacy and independence are pleased to offer any help or advice.
Maigold Cottage also has a lovely clear view wood burner stove and there is a piano in the lounge. Both properties have free WiFi access.
