Austen Embroidery Workshop at Chatsworth

An artist-led embroidery workshop with an Austen theme.

About

13th June 2025 - 15th June 2025

This special Chatsworth and Austen-themed embroidery workshop will be led by Derbyshire-based embroidery artist, Abigail Rose Creative.

Under expert guidance, learn a pastime practised by the 'most accomplished' of Mr Darcy's society in the Regency era.

In this workshop, you'll use time-honoured techniques and learn essential embroidery stitches to create your own Pemberley-inspired hoop. This bespoke design has been inspired by Chatsworth and celebrates 250 years since the birth of Jane Austen. It features delicate florals, the grand silhouette of Chatsworth, and a famous quote from Pride and Prejudice—the very words Lizzie utters upon first glimpsing Mr. Darcy’s grand estate.
