A strenuous walk using mainly paths but with some road walking. Suitable clothing and footwear for higher, uneven ground of which some parts are very open. Poles may be useful. The walk, providing weather is good, has stunning views towards South Head and across to Kinder Scout. The walk will run whatever the weather

Edale – to catch the 17:49 or if stopping for a drink the 18:47 train
- Chinley – Cracken Edge – Phoside Farm – Highgate Road – Stubbs Farm – Mount Famine – South Head – Jacob’s Ladder – Upper Booth – Barber Booth – Edale
- 11.25 miles
- 2,532 feet ascent
- Potentially some waterlogged boggy parts
Some steep rocky climbs - Suitable for more experienced walkers.
- Bring packed lunch and drink
- Be suitably equipment for uplands and weather
This is a free event - No booking required.
Those coming from Manchester 09:15 at Manchester Piccadilly station to catch the 09.31 train to Chinley (early boarding recommended as this train is usually very busy) Otherwise 10:07 at Chinley station
