Community Peak Pooch Pilgrimage

20 June this year is the birthday weekend of Jo Cox MP who called for unity across our nation, and marks the tenth anniversary of her tragic murder.

Every Winter and Summer, her charity invites us to gather as caring communities and remember our common humanity in the face of the evil in the world. To mark this special event, I am guiding what we believe is the first ever dog- friendly PEAK POOCH PILGRIMAGE from St John the Baptist, Tideswell around four dog-friendly churches in Tideswell Benefice. It's our hallmark Mills & Martyrs Parish Pilgrimage route, but a slightly shorter 6 mile/ 10km stile-free route, to make it accessible to as many folk as possible. Walk all or part of the six miles with us. It seems fitting to offer this pilgrimage FREE OF CHARGE to allow everyone who wishes to attend, and voluntary donations made on the day will go to support the outstanding community- supporting work of St John's and bereavement work of the caring national charity who supported me through the darkest of times following the deaths of both my husband and daughter, Care for the Family.

Pilgrimages are journeys of INTENTION and anyone of any or no faith is invited to connect deeply with themselves, others and nature over our inclusive, accessible route around the parish. Bring your walking boots, pet pooches, your own special people to remember and join us to say YES to community and NO to division. As Jo famously said, we have MORE IN COMMON to unite us than divide us. What a legacy...
