Community Science Taster Day

Help to build a detailed picture of Peak Village's biodiversity

About

19th September 2025 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

We need your help to build a detailed picture of Peak Village’s biodiversity! Come along and get involved in some community science projects with the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust whilst exploring Peak Village’s wildlife haven.

Understanding the health and diversity of wildlife in Derbyshire is the first step to protecting it. The 19th of September marks the start of the Great UK WaterBlitz weekend – a community science project testing the quality of local freshwater including rivers, streams and lakes. This event is open to all ages with Super Spotter detective guides available for our youngest conservationists, water testing demonstrations and take-home kits for your local ponds, streams or lakes, and more hands-on talks and activities throughout the day!
