Itinerary:
February Saturday 22nd 2025
We meet at the Earl Sterndale (W3W: announced.discloses.weary) between 08.00 and 08.15. Parking is limited, so car sharing is encouraged. Your guide will advise you as to parking spaces available on arrival.
After a quick safety briefing we begin our walk. The walk is approximately 14 km (9 miles) long, and follows footpaths, bridleways, country lanes, farmland and open moorland. There are some uneven and rocky sections, steep ascents and descents, and the very nature of the event means there will be some high edges and exposed sections to cover.
Our pace will be relaxed! Guiding is in a small group of no more than 8 people by an experienced local guide.
Dog tickets are not available for this walk due to wildlife and farm stock considerations.
Please note, that a reasonable standard of fitness will be required… Our route takes in nearly 800m of ascent and descent over 14km
The walk concludes back at the Earl Sterndale at approximately 13.00 with the opportunity for a debrief over drinks and food at a local venue (short drive away) as a gesture of economic support to the local community. There is usually the opportunity to buy food and drink on the route, but this is dependant on shop opening hours and we cannot guarantee that this will be available!
What’s Included
📋 Other – Our route can be extremely exposed to the weather, with limited opportunity for shelter. Your guide will be carrying additional safety and medical items as well as additional insulation and weather protection. However please pay attention to the kit list provided and bring enough clothing to be warm and dry should the weather turn a little ‘Northern!’
