End of the Line Art Trail

The Outdoor exhibition and art trail starts at Glossop train station and leads participants around the town centre where they can view a range of artworks by locally based artists.

About

20th September 2024 - 29th September 2024

The "End of the Line" Outdoor art exhibition and trail runs from 20th - 29th September - has been devised by Glossop Creates.

End of the Line takes in Glossop train station, plus much of the high street and surrounding roads, with paintings, sculptures, textiles, prints, photography, sound and street art all featured and displayed at various locations.

Local artists taking part include internationally renowned painter Ghislaine Howard, who’s currently exhibiting at the Contemporary Six gallery in Manchester, and street mural and graffiti artist Deggy, who is well known for his Vivienne Westwood mural in Glossop and Sarah Harding memorial mural in Stockport. It also features sculptures by Brian Fell, paintings by visual artist Evie O’Connor, and soundscapes by podcaster and sound artist Clare Savory., plus many more.

To add to the excitement, there will be a busking point in the central Norfolk Square to promote local musicians, and a culinary element and cultural experience; the chefs at celebrated local deli and restaurant Two Hares have been commissioned to create a Glossop Pie which will reflect the town’s local heritage.

Steven Dexter from Glossop Creates said: We are grateful to Visit Peak District & Derbyshire and High Peak Borough Council for giving us the opportunity to test new creative ideas locally and to allow us to develop a fantastic new way of displaying creative talent along our High Street. The End of the Line showcases some of Glossop’s most established artists, artisans and projects, as well as creating new performance spaces and showing artwork in new places. There are big plans for Glossop, and we encourage those interested in the town as a creative destination to get in touch; a big part of what we do is advocating for Glossop as an amazing place to live, work and visit!”
