Normandy 80th Anniversary !
A warm welcome to all re-enactors ! – Join us 31st May, 1st & 2 June 2024 where will dedicate the Glossop heritage weekend to remember the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings. Come and join in the fun. Why not dress up in Heritage clothes and join the parade! In this special 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings, why not dress up as a 1940s worker, evacuee kid, Air Raid Warden or any WW2 theme!
Entertainment for all the family
Singers and dancers on stage..Brass Bands, Morris Dancers…Vintage fair, Craft Beer Festival, delicious local food stalls and craft market…..it’s all here…
Enjoy a rare trip by Shire Horse and Carriage, or even a Vintage Bus!
You can still arrive by car or public transport, but The Horse and Carriage rides around Norfolk Square during our 2022 event were extremely popular with all ages. This year’s event brings a new operator, along with an additional touring experience in a Leyland Vintage Bus! Sit back and enjoy the ride!

We will have a fantastic temporary display of Glossop heritage and tourist information exhibits for you at the old Nat West building in Norfolk Square courtesy of Glossop Heritage and Adam Bell.

Look out for our fabulous vintage fairground rides ready to spin you back in time.
Beer Festival
Our Beer Festival in Norfolk Square has some of the top local beers from the top local breweries and helps us to provide a free to attend event.
All craft real ale as beer should be. Opening at 17:00 on Friday evening we are sure there is something for all real ale aficionados! Plus wines, gins and cocktails too!
Everyone is welcome to join the parade!
Join in the parade in any period dress from 1850-1950 and win a prize hamper for best dressed.
schools, scouts, guides, brownies, cadets, may queens, re-enactors, and people who love to dress up! Join the parade on Saturday 1st June 2024 at 11 am – 11:30 in dress from 1850-1950. The best dressed adult and best dress child will win a hamper and sweets courtesy of Marks And Spencer Glossop. (Judged by our lord lieutenant in Norfolk Sq after the parade). To enter simply email us at info@GlossopHeritageWeekend.org saying you wish to parade.
