Hartington Well Dressing
This ancient custom is unique to Derbyshire and is the art of decorating springs and wells with pictures made from natural materials.

Hartington Well dressing begins on Monday 7th Sept at the village hall from 10 to 4.
Saturday 12th September at 2.45 the blessing of the Well takes place starting outside Cavendish House on Church Street.
Weather permitting the Well will stay in place for one to two weeks.
There are usually 2 dressings-
1. Main Well Dressing on the green near the village pond
2. School Well Dressing next to the War Memorial at the junction of Hall Bank with The Dale (B5054)
Hartington is located on the B5054 between the A515 Buxton to Ashbourne road and the B5053 at Warslow.
