About
2nd July 2026 - 26th July 2026
10:30 am - 4:00 pm
Each July, Hopton Hall welcomes visitors to its Walled Rose Garden – a once-derelict one-acre area that now features over 2,000 rose bushes, with its 40 beds framed by 5,000 clipped box plants. Visitors also have the opportunity to explore other interesting features and architecture of the grounds including the quirky Crinkle Crankle Wall and 11-metre-high Summer House. The heated Café at Hopton Hall and an outdoor terrace offer sweeping views of the estate whatever the weather.
The Summer opening of the grounds coincides with the Month of Art celebration where 2D and 3D artists are offered free access to the Estate’s extensive grounds and gardens to create an artwork taking inspiration from their surrounds. They are invited to submit their finished work into the Month of Art competition and to apply for a complimentary gazebo where they can create art, display and sell art, and run workshops.
Visitors can watch local artists at work and, during the final weekend of July (Saturday, 25th and Sunday 26th July), cast their vote in the competition. The artist with the winning artwork receives first prize of £1,000, with 2nd and 3rd prizes of £250 and £100 respectively being awarded vouchers for Turners Art Supplies.
Opening times
Thursday – Sunday from Thursday, 2nd July to Sunday, 26th July 2026, 10:30 until 16:00 (Last admittance 15:00).
