Kinder Scout Challenge

Kinder Scout, the highest point of the Peak District, is an iconic moorland plateau that offers up a true adventure for those venturing up onto its forbidding summit.

About

1st March 2025

£30.00 Saturday 1st March 2025 Time – 8am Distance – Approx 15 Miles Location – Edale Car Park (W3W kitchen.complains.shelving) Led by local Hill and Moorland Leader John Figiel

We meet at the Edale Car Park (W3W kitchen.complains.shelving) between 07.45 and 08.00 After a quick safety briefing we begin our walk. The walk is approximately 24 km (15 miles) long, and follows both footpaths and wet open moorland. There are some uneven and rocky sections, and the very nature of the event means there will be a steep climb and descent on and off the plateau.

Our pace will be relaxed!

Guiding is in a small group of no more than 10 people by an experienced local guide.

Please note, this is a challenging route and requires a reasonable standard of fitness.

The walk concludes back at Edale at approximately 17.00 with the opportunity for a debrief over drinks and food as a gesture of economic support to the local community.
