On Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd November, Leek is hosting its very own two day beer festival to commemorate Ninkasi, the Sumerian goddess of beer and brewing.
As part of the LEEK BEER FESTIVAL we have a beer trail with 14 pubs taking part in which they have all nominated a beer for festival attendees to score out of ten. Pick up a trail sheet from one of the 14 participating pubs, buy a pint or half of their nominated beer, hand the completed form to any of the pubs taking part to be entered into a free prize draw to win a 2 night stay at The Greyhound Inn in Warslow.
The pubs taking part are listed below and they will be open from 12noon:

The Fountain Inn
The Earl Grey Inn
The Cattle Market
The Banker’s Draught

On Saturday 1st November there will be a procession around the town with of a figure of Ninkasi, made by local artist Chris Thompson. Later on join us in the Trestle Market, from 6pm till 10pm for German themed entertainment, bar and food. The Oktoberfest Band, an oompah band like you have never heard before, will be performing traditional German tunes fused with modern classics.
The next day (Sunday 2nd November) is the Sunday Supplement Market with over 60 outdoor stalls open from 9am and Leek's first Day of the Dead event, starting inside the Trestle Market at 10.30am with storytelling and arts & crafts with a parade at 1pm.
