About
25th September 2024
9:30 am - 2:00 pm
A 6.5 mile circular taking in Mam Tor, Barber Booth and Rushup Edge. Meet at Mam Tor National Trust Car Park (also known as Man Nick car park) at 9:30.
Car park location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/YT9V9QCvdUkZjPqn8
Car parking is £6 for over 4 hours - please do car share where possible and if this is prohibitive it can be covered by Hadfield Nature Walks.
Walk: 6.5 mile circular route. Expect a fair uphill climb to Rushup Edge, some rocky terrain and possibly some muddy farm paths. The duration will depend largely on group pace but I anticipate being back at the car park around 3pm latest.
Kit: Some of the footpaths can get very muddy depending on the weather in the days/weeks prior, so walking boots are strongly advised.
Please also make sure you have a waterproof jacket, even if rain isn't forecast. You'll also need a couple of warm layers and would recommend bringing a hat and gloves too.
Please bring your own lunch, water and hot drinks.
18+ only. Well-behaved dogs welcome but must be kept on a lead around livestock, and be considerate of other group members and walkers.
Places are limited and must be reserved: www.eventbrite.co.uk/mam tor walk
Free (Hadfield Nature Walks are funded via The Bureau in Glossop)
Hadfield Nature Walks runs two adult walks per month on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. This is the more challenging of our monthly walks - we keep the pace manageable but it tends to be quicker than our 'Easy' walk, as we have more miles to cover.
