Getting Crabs, Throwing Stones and Other Offences: 19th Century Trespassers in Milford - Talk at No.28 - 30th August 6pm
A notebook kept by the Milford Nightwatchmen in the 1830s was handed over to Belper Historical Society in 2022. After transcribing the book, it was possible to identify the people involved, the places that attracted trespassers and the punishments meted out to offenders. The talk shows a fascinating and very detailed picture of a different side of local life.
This talk by Jane Whitaker begins at 6pm on 30th August at No.28 on Belper Market Place as part of the Belper 250 anniversary celebrations.
All proceeds go towards the Belper North Mill Trust.
