Local band The Cathodes will be performing live at The Globe in Glossop, on Friday 21st of November 2025! They'll be supported by Bolton-based singer/songwriter Mistrust (me!) and The Steve Roberts Three.

The Cathodes are a four-piece synth-pop band from the Tameside area of Manchester in the United Kingdom. The band are influenced by the melodies and sounds from the 80s with a small dash of the 60s thrown in. Although a relatively new band (coming up with the name in 2020), all members have extensive past experience playing both live and recording. The Cathodes are on former EMI executive Fred Cannon's label - Creative and Dreams Music Network, LLC®. Mistrust is Bolton-based synth pop musician who writes and records original songs which are influenced by the catchy melodies of ABBA, combined with the sounds and lyrics Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Gary Numan, Joy Division and early Human League. The Tambourines) joins with Laura B and Steve D to form a semi-acoustic power pop trio playing songs from a range of Steve's albums, including the Mercury Prize nominated 'It Just Is’ and ‘All Power to the Bookshop’ (Steve manages George Street Community Bookshop). Expect upbeat anthems and the occasional tearjerker.
