Take a walk through the National Forest
The bus stop right outside Rosliston Forestry Centre, a 140-acre site in the heart of the National Forest. It is a fascinating place to learn, explore and enjoy with all the family – from walks and cycle routes to play areas and a fishing lake. Take one of the marked trails around the site and visit the wildlife and sensory gardens, snowdrop wood, poplar plantation and bluebell memorial woods. Make sure you look out for wildlife as the forest is home to kestrels, owls and kingfishers as well as bats and butterflies in summer.
The Hub Cafe is a great place to grab a bite to eat wih it’s panoramic views over the woodland.

Explore the market town of Swadlincote
Alternatively continue on route to Swadlincote where you’ll find a whole host of places to discover. You can wander through the delightful shops and enjoy local eateries with a well earned hearty lunch.

Sharpe’s Pottery Museum in a unique grade two listed building where you will discover stories of Sharpe’s family history, and the significant changes from 19th century deep coal and opencast mining, clay extraction and associated industrial activity, to a 21st century sustainable landscape.

Enjoy the thrills of Sno-Tubing and Toboggan Rides at the Snowsports Centre
For the adventurous visit the Ski Centre - ride the Cresta Run for an awesome toboggan ride, enjoy the slide on sno -tubes or learn to ski or snowboard with a beginners one day lesson.
