Day out from Buxton – explore the High Peak by bus
Buxton is a great base to start exploring the High Peak and the High Peak 61 service offers a brilliant car free day out from the town.

Forget about sitting in traffic jams, battling with satnavs or driving in circles trying to find a parking space, JUST HOP ON THE BUS, relax and then hop off at any of the wonderful destinations along route. Travelling by bus is safe, simple and sustainable. Admire the views of the Goyt Valley
Alight at Goyts Lane for a 2 mile walk to Errwood Reservoir passing a great view point of the Goyt Valley - part of the Peak District National Park the Goyt Valley is rich in industrial heritage, wildlife, and beautiful woodlands.

Explore the pretty town of Whaley Bridge
Alight at Whaley Bridge Railway Station to explore Whaley Bridge - It's an excellent place for walking, cycling, and boating along the Peak Forest Canal. Don’t miss the opportunity to sample some delicious home baked treats at The Bridge Bakehouse.
Hop off at Tesco Supermarket for a short walk to Bugsworth Canal Basin on the Peak Forest Canal, the basin was once the largest and busiest inland port on the narrow canal system and the only one to survive intact. Today, it's a great spot for a leisurely walk along the canal spotting local wildlife along the way.

Discover New Mills
Alight at the Bus Station New Mills for New Mills – Here you can visit Torr Vale Mill and stop off for light refreshments overlooking the beautiful Torrs Riverside Park, the Mill and Taproom is accessed along the stunning Millenium Walkway, a 175-yard aerial walkway spanning the cliffside above the River Goyt.

Conquer Kinder Scout
Take the High Peak 61 service to the Bus Station, Hayfield – alight here for a walk to Kinder Scout, access the Sett Valley Trail or enjoy a delicious meal at The Packhorse, Hayfield.

Explore Glossop
At the end of the route is Glossop - explore Glossop's historic town centre with its traditional shops, cafes, and local landmarks like Glossop Market Hall and St. James' Church. Enjoy the beauty of the nearby Longdendale Reservoirs for walking, cycling, or birdwatching. Visit the local Glossop Heritage Centre or enjoy the tranquil surroundings at Howard Park.
